A simple way to meet the weather instead of avoiding it.

🌧 Rain Practice

Rain changes the rhythm of a place.

Sounds soften.
Scents rise from the earth.

The world becomes quieter and closer.

Instead of rushing past it, pause for a moment

The 60-Second Rain Practice

  • Pause where you are.
By a window, under a porch, beneath a tree, or standing in light rain.

  • Listen first.
Notice the different sounds rain makes:
    leaves
    roofs
    pavement
    water moving.

  • Look slowly.
    Watch how rain lands:
    circles in puddles
    drops hanging from branches
    mist moving through the air.

  • Breathe with it for a while taking a deep cleansing breathe.
Let the sound of rain set the pace.

  • Leave one small thought behind:

Rain is the earth returning water to itself.

📓 Rain changes a landscape faster than almost anything.

After the rain passes, notice what is different:

• new scents in the air
• deeper colors in bark and leaves
• water gathering in unexpected places

Even a familiar place becomes briefly new.

“Puddle Permission.”

If you see a puddle and no one is watching,
jump in it.  Why not make a splash!

the Bluff - a place for calm, reflection, and deep listening.
